A total of 220 industrial enterprises located in Yongkang, a county-level of city in Jinhua, have set up rooftop photovoltaic power stations to provide electricity by the end of July.

Their photovoltaic power stations, with a grid-connected installed capacity of 164,800 kilowatts, are able to generate 160 million kilowatt-hours electricity annually, about 22.8 percent of their total electricity consumption, according to officials from the Yongkang branch of the State Grid Corporation of China.

In 2016, Daoming Optics and Chemical Co spent 12 million yuan ($1.74 million) building 15,000 square meters of photovoltaic power generation panels on the roof of its building. The rooftop photovoltaic power station can reduce carbon emissions by 9,000 metric tons and save more than 200 yuan in costs for the company every year.

In order to solve problems such as electricity shortages and protect resources and the environment, the local government of Yongkang released a series of measures and action plans to encourage industrial enterprises and local residents to build such rooftop photovoltaic power stations in order to make the most use of solar energy.
