Jinhua of East China's Zhejiang province will work to further open up and achieve a higher level of people-to-people and cultural exchanges over the world, according to the local government.

Jinhua is a city boasting a rich history. The city not only features Shangshan local attractions, but is also the birthplace of intangible cultural heritages such as Wuju opera and wood carvings.

The city has established trade relations with more than 230 countries and regions around the world, making it an important city for countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.

Jinhua has been making efforts to promote its culture overseas with a series of activities such as the China-Africa Cultural Cooperation and Exchange Week, which provides a bridge for people in China and Africa to learn more about each other.

The city aims to enhance its international influence by hosting more exhibitions such as the China Hengdian Film and Television Cultural Expo and the Yiwu Cultural and Tourism Products Trade Expo.

It will also establish friendships with more BRI cities and Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership member countries. It will improve the normalized communication mechanism of its international sister cities and consolidate and deepen its relationship with them by setting up representative offices and holding friendly activities.

Jinhua will continue to expand its cooperation with African countries in economic and trade cooperation, cultural exchanges and other areas to build itself into a transit point where Africa can expand its presence and Jinhua can enlarge its circle of friends in Africa.
