Jinhua hosts online trade exhibition for African buyers

The online exhibition of Zhejiang's famous consumer goods industry for Africa was officially launched on Nov 1.

Sponsored by the Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the local government of Jinhua, the online exhibition aims to strengthen bilateral trade between Zhejiang and African countries and encourage more enterprises based in Zhejiang to expand into the African market.

The online exhibition attracted over 40 local enterprises involved in the building material, medical protection, consumer goods, food and beverage industries.

The opening day also saw 10 local exhibitors carry out matchmaking meetings with 10 buyers from East African countries online.

Jinhua has been leading Sino-Africa cooperation and exchanges in China, especially in small commodity trade and culture.

Jinhua has so far established trade exchanges with 60 African countries and regions. In 2021, Jinhua's exports to Africa totaled 84.57 billion yuan ($11.67 billion), accounting for 33.5 percent of Zhejiang province's total exports and 8.8 percent of China's total exports to Africa.
