This year marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of Yiwu's wholesale market of daily commodities. The market has been expanded for 10 times with five upgrades since 1982, and it has won the acclaim of the World Bank and some other United Nations organizations as the world's largest supermarket of daily commodities.

The "A Date with China" 2022 international media tour came to Yiwu small commodities market, also known as the "supermarket of the world", in Zhejiang province.

Ali Erdogan, a Turkish businessman, said the business environment in Yiwu is good and international transportation is convenient.

Yiwu is a beneficiary of the Belt and Road Initiative. The Yiwu platform of the Yiwu-Xinjiang-Europe freight train operated more than 1,000 trains in 2022. The service has greatly promoted international trade for Yiwu.
