Jinhua's foreign trade up 19.4% in first 10 months

Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province, posted a 19.4 percent year-on-year increase in foreign trade in the first 10 months of 2022, according to the latest data from Jinhua customs.

The total value of the city's imports and exports reached 565.21 billion yuan ($87.91 billion) during this period. Exports grew 15.4 percent year-on-year to 497.63 billion yuan, while imports surged 60.1 percent year-on-year to 67.58 billion yuan. Jinhua's foreign trade value ranked third in the province.

In the first 10 months of the year, foreign trade between Jinhua and the European Union, the United States, South Korea, Africa, Latin America, and ASEAN increased by 31.3 percent, 22.2 percent, 44.7 percent, 4.1 percent, 27.2 percent, and 9.3 percent yearly, respectively.

During the same period, Jinhua's trade with countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership member countries increased by 13.5 and 18.7 percent year-on-year, respectively, totaling 199.57 billion yuan and 97.93 billion yuan.

From January to October, Jinhua exported 270.82 billion yuan in goods through market procurement trade, an annual increase of 13 percent and accounting for 54.4 percent of the city's total export value. Jinhua's general trade imports and exports increased by 20.2 percent to 219.04 billion yuan.

In addition, the city's exports of mechanical and electrical products increased by 14.9 percent to 214.32 billion yuan, accounting for 43.1 percent of Jinhua's total export value. The city's exports of new and high-tech products surged 102.6 percent to 44.88 billion yuan.
