A business delegation of over 30 business executives from 20 foreign trade companies and government officials, led by the Jinhua bureau of commerce, traveled to Jakarta, Indonesia from Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport on Dec 10.

The Jinhua enterprises participating in the trip mainly work in industries such as electric tools, textiles, kitchen supplies, and household appliances.

During their stay in Indonesia, the delegation plans to learn about the business environment and opportunities from the Zhejiang General Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia, host the China (Jinhua)-Indonesia Economic and Trade Fair, visit Jinhua's investment and business sites in Indonesia, promote Jinhua's investment environment and investment promotion policies, and sign contracts with business partners.

The move came after China announced 10 new prevention and control measures on Dec 7, aiming to help trade enterprises achieve more orders and attract investment.

The investment activities are expected to boost the confidence of foreign investors and enhance their investment confidence in Jinhua, according to officials.

Indonesia is an important economic and trade partner of Jinhua in the ASEAN region. From January to October, foreign trade between Jinhua and Indonesia increased by 27.2 percent to 10.69 billion yuan ($1.56 billion). Exports rose 25.4 percent yearly to 9.15 billion yuan, while imports saw an increase of 39.3 percent year-on-year to 1.53 billion yuan. Jinhua has invested nearly $3.5 billion in 13 projects in eight companies in Indonesia.

Jinhua will continue to arrange for enterprises to participate in economic and trade activities abroad. The city will send a business delegation to the United Arab Emirates on Dec 18 and another trip to Thailand and Vietnam on Dec 22.
