Jinhua's foreign trade up 17.2% in first 11 months

Jinhua in East China's Zhejiang province saw its foreign trade grow 17.2 percent year-on-year from January to November of 2022, totaling 629.03 billion yuan ($91.98 billion), according to local customs.

Exports grew 12.9 percent year-on-year to 550.55 billion yuan, while imports surged 60.5 percent year-on-year to 78.48 billion yuan. The growth rate of imports ranked first in the province.

In the first 11 months of the year, foreign trade between Jinhua and the European Union, the United States, ASEAN and India increased by 28 percent, 16.4 percent, 5.6 percent, and 39.1 percent year-on-year, respectively, totaling 93.81 billion yuan, 88.94 billion yuan, 66.42 billion yuan, and 30.98 billion yuan.

The city's trade with Africa and Latin America was valued at 89.08 billion yuan and 84.99 billion yuan, respectively, an increase of 5.1 percent and 26.2 percent yearly.

In addition, the city's trade with countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative was up 12.3 percent yearly to 225.3 billion yuan, accounting for 35.8 percent of the total foreign trade value. Trade with other RCEP member countries increased by 14.9 percent yearly to 109.9 billion yuan.

From January to November, foreign trade of private enterprises in Jinhua rose 17.6 percent yearly to 617.62 billion yuan, accounting for 98.2 percent of the city's total foreign trade value and driving the city's foreign trade growth by 17.2 percentage points. The foreign trade of foreign-invested enterprises saw an uptick of 3.4 percent yearly to 9.86 billion yuan.
