Lanxi, a county-level city of Jinhua, hosted a launch ceremony for the city's 28 key projects on Jan 2.
The 28 projects, with a total investment of 10.84 billion yuan ($1.58 billion), will begin operating next year. They cover a number of industries, including traditional manufacturing, new energy and new materials, biomedicine, modern agriculture, social welfare, and basic infrastructure.
The electric scooter project of Zhejiang Duertelun Vehicle Industry Co, located in the Lanxi Economic Development Zone, is one of the projects that will be put into operation. The new factory will be used for the assembly, testing, and packing of electric scooters.
In addition, six projects located in Lanxi High-tech District will start operating. Projects include the Yangtze River Delta Magnesium Materials Research Institute of Chongqing University and the intelligent equipment manufacturing center of Zhejiang Zhongxin Environmental Protection Technology Co. Officials said that the district will further deepen industry-university-research cooperation and promote the integration of technological innovation and industrial development.
