Two areas in Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province, were included in the third batch of provincial opera towns, according to a recent announcement released by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism.

Yongchang sub-district, Lanxi
Yongchang sub-district in Lanxi, a county-level city of Jinhua, is known for its Wuju opera. It is currently home to one professional opera troupe and eight private ones.
The sub-district has spent over 5 million yuan ($738,288.68) building opera stages in every town and village, which has been included in its overall development plan. In addition, over 25 million yuan has been spent repairing Yongchang Ancient Street, including the restoration of ancient opera stages.
A number of Wuju opera-themed cultural products and IPs have been created to better promote the time-honored culture.

Qiancang town, Yongkang
Qiancang town in Yongkang, a county-level city of Jinhua, has developed three private opera troupes focusing on Wuju opera and Yueju opera.
The town has launched a series of plans to boost the development of opera. About 60,000 to 100,000 yuan in special funds is being used for opera-related activities every year.
It has also been working to carry out opera training for young people.
