Jinhua's performance groups will take part in a 200-day countdown event for the Hangzhou Asian Games at the Hangzhou Asian Games Village on March 7, according to local media outlets.

The event will mark the first official public appearance of the Hangzhou Asian Games Village, according to officials.

It will consist of two parts, allowing audiences to experience the Asian Games atmosphere early, and celebrating the arrival of spring with literary and artistic programs related to the season.

A lion dance team from Shiqiaotou village, Tangxian town, Yongkang, Jinhua will perform its traditional Nine Lion Dance as a warm-up.

The dance originated from the prayers for peace and prosperity and a bountiful harvest. It was initially performed during the Lantern Festival on the fifteenth day of the lunar new year. Later, it developed into a performance for major Chinese festivals and celebrations.

A total of 30 performers from Pan'an town will wave the Pan'an Long Flag, each of which is 4.2 meters long and 0.22 meters wide and tied to a fresh bamboo pole that still has bamboo tips and leaves at the top. The flag is embroidered with dragon and phoenix patterns. A total of 300 to 500 flags can be seen during regular folk festival celebrations.
