Jianshan Ancient Street in Pan'an county, Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province, reopened to the public on May 13.

Folk performances featuring the culture and history of Pan'an's Jianshan town and Yiwu's Fotang town were staged at the opening ceremony.

Authorities in Jianshan town and Fotang town launched a campaign last year to renovate the ancient street, including repairing old houses, upgrading infrastructure and improving landscapes.

Authorities have also established a public space for leisure, reading and exhibitions of local produce at the center of the street.

Meanwhile, authorities have rolled out favorable policies to attract businesses related to root carving, hanfu shows and pubs and set up a common prosperity workshop to inject more vitality into the street.

In addition, authorities have released a two-day travel route which links the street with other several scenic attractions. The street has become a popular destination among locals looking to go on a night tour.

The street was a salt transaction hub in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties (1368-1911).
