The 8th Pan'an Yunfeng Tea Culture Festival was held in Pan'an county, Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province from June 12 to 13.

The festival consisted of two main events. One was a tea soup evaluation, in which participants used their senses to identify the corresponding dry tea leaves and compete for the title of "China Tea King." The other event was a tea tasting, primarily for enterprises and individuals engaged in Yunfeng tea production in Pan'an county.

The event aimed to promote Pan'an tea culture, establish its tea brand, and contribute to the high-quality development of the tea industry, said a local official.

Pan'an has long regarded the tea industry as the leading industry for enriching the lives of its people and strengthening the county. It has focused on integrating "tea culture, tea industry, and tea technology" to accelerate the establishment of a new development pattern for the coordinated and mutually-beneficial development of the "Three Teas."

The county currently has a tea plantation area of 81,300 mu (5,420 hectares), with a total tea production of 2,445 tons, and a total output value of 458 million yuan. The tea is sold in 14 major cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Jinan. In 2022, 52,000 people in the county were engaged in tea production and management, accounting for 29% of the total population.
