Jinhua's achievements in cooperation with African countries are now showcased at the 2023 China (Zhejiang) Sino-African Economic and Trade Forum, which also marks the Sino-African Cultural Cooperation Exchange Month commencing on Nov 8.

According to the showcase, Jinhua has made outstanding achievements in cooperation with African countries in fields such as trade, industries, cultural exchange, and education.

Specifically, in terms of trade, the city has established trade ties with all African countries and regions, and its imports and exports with these countries have amounted to 100 billion yuan ($13.74 billion) a year, accounting for 10 percent of the national total.

Jinhua has formed an industrial cluster with construction, wholesale and retail trade, mining, manufacturing, and agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fisheries as the main industries for cooperation with Africa.

As of the end of last year, 53 enterprises had been established in Africa, and over 2,500 African business people engaged in commercial activities in Jinhua last year.

Jinhua has also further deepened its cultural exchange and cooperation with Africa, with cultural events such as photography exhibitions, Wuju opera performances, and the Sino-African Cultural and Tourism Forum having been hosted.

Zhang Weiguo, a representative of China Cosco Shipping Corporation (Yiwu) Co, said that the exhibition strengthens his confidence and his company will take advantage of the city's trade hub to unveil more shipping routes to African countries.
