Jinhua achieves economic growth from Jan-Nov

Jinhua in Zhejiang province has reported positive economic growth from January to November, according to the latest data released by local statistics authorities.

From January to November, a total of 2,271 "Yiwu-Xinjiang-Europe" China-Europe freight trains operated, representing a year-on-year growth of 6.87 percent, with 188,000 TEUs in import and export containers handled.

Jinhua is actively expanding high-level opening-up and maintaining strong momentum in foreign trade exports, with authorities mobilizing 190 delegations and 3,932 companies to conduct economic and trade activities overseas.

The city's foreign trade with countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative amounted to 405.98 billion yuan ($57.22 billion) during the 11-month period, an increase of 16.7 percent.

Investment growth rate in the city's high-tech industries reached 61.2 percent, while the proportion of research and development expenses to operating income in large-scale industrial enterprises was 3.36 percent.

Jinhua has also launched a campaign to accelerate the transformation of the manufacturing industry in terms of quality, efficiency, power, and services. From January to October, core industries of the digital economy in the city generated 180.94 billion yuan in operating income, while the software and information services industry in large-scale enterprises reached 15.47 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 14.4 percent.
