A lively scene unfolded as 30 players gathered for a game in Guanqiao village, Dongyang, Jinhua, Zhejiang province on Jan 28, embarking on a wondrous immersive treasure hunt.

The immersive gaming event introduced the "live-action + murder mystery game" format for the first time in the village. Throughout the activity, players could be seen exploring ancient buildings, searching for clues, engaging in intellectual battles with non-player characters to obtain information, and transforming into detectives to unravel puzzles.

They strolled through ancient houses, checking out a series of surrounding scenic spots and routes while enjoying the novelty and excitement of the game.

A player surnamed Wang noted that this murder mystery was different from the traditional ones he played before as he was able to experience elements of the village's traditional folk culture, including stone rubbing and lantern-making.

This event represents a novel attempt to blend traditional culture with contemporary elements, according to Luo Xin, the person in charge of the event, stating that hosting this activity aims to promote Guanqiao and attract more people to experience its ancient charm and elegance.

Luo added that Guanqiao will further explore its tourism and cultural resources, develop new hotspots for rural tourism, and promote the development of immersive cultural and tourism industries as part of efforts to drive rural vitalization.

Guanqiao village boasts a rich history spanning over 700 years and is home to numerous cultural relics, including 48 well-preserved ancient buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911), and the Republic of China era (1911-49).
