Songxi ancient village, situated in the northeast region of Pujiang county, Jinhua, Zhejiang province, is a renowned national historical and cultural village with a history spanning thousands of years.

Nestled amidst mountains and rivers, the village boasts a diverse array of ancient buildings, including over 1,560 structures dating back to the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties.

In November 2022, Zhejiang Zhimei Art Institute established a creative sketching base within the village, injecting newfound vitality into its rural vitalization efforts.

In recent years, the institute has actively introduced artistic resources to foster the integrated development of culture and tourism, emerging as a driving force behind the vitalization of Songxi.

In 2023, the number of tourists visiting the village surpassed 600,000, with the village hosting 42 art creation teams, resulting in a collective income of over 10 million yuan ($1.39 million).

"When the radiance of art graces the countryside, it not only embellishes rural landscapes but also illuminates the path for rural vitalization and development," remarked Wang Zulong, head of the united front work department of the CPC Pujiang County Committee.
