Pujiang county in Jinhua, Zhejiang province has taken significant strides in the preservation of its traditional ancient villages, with a clear focus on driving rural vitalization.

Over the past few years, the county has dedicated efforts to safeguard these historic villages, aiming to cultivate a unique village charm and create model villages that are both beautiful and livable.

For example, in Songxi village, there is a dedicated emphasis on preserving legacies from the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911) to maintain its nostalgic charm, while actively creating a picturesque countryside with mountains enveloping and water embracing the ancient villages.

In addition to preservation endeavors, comprehensive measures are being implemented to address cleanliness and disorder in rural areas. This includes substantial infrastructure improvements and the advancement of key projects such as garbage management, sewage treatment, toilet revolution, and rural sanitation.

Moreover, there is a concerted effort to develop distinctive industries that will contribute to collective income. This involves nurturing sectors such as signature planting, agritainment, homestays, and e-commerce to advance rural tourism.

It's noteworthy that Pujiang is currently home to 10 national traditional ancient villages, showcasing the county's rich cultural heritage and commitment to preserving its historical legacy.
