Jinhua seeks cooperation in Tanzania

An economic and trade delegation from Jinhua, Zhejiang province set off for Tanzania on March 24 for a six-day exchange event.

The delegation consists of representatives from nearly 60 major enterprises spanning industries such as textiles and apparel, agricultural machinery, hardware tools, engineering contracting, mining and environmental equipment, and logistics services.

The delegation will visit the China-Tanzania Industrial Park, Tanzania's largest national industrial park, the local market, and attend the China-Tanzania Investment Forum, during which they will engage in face-to-face discussions with local government departments, chambers of commerce, and businesses to gain a deeper understanding of the local business environment, investment policies, and consumer demands In search of cooperation opportunities.

At the same time, the delegation will promote the Sino-African Economic, Trade, and Cultural Forum scheduled to take place in Jinhua around November.

Tanzania is one of Jinhua's most important economic and trade partners in Africa. Last year, the trade volume between the two sides reached 6.25 billion yuan ($867.22 million), an increase of 4.61 percent year-on-year.

The scope of cooperation covers areas such as plastic products, textiles and garments, machinery and hardware tools, copper and aluminum materials, and seafood products.

This year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Tanzania, and the visit will further broaden the channels for economic and trade cooperation between Jinhua and Tanzania, noted a local official.
