Jinhua experienced a surge in activity from the China-Europe Railway Express during the first quarter of this year, with a total of 19,400 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in cumulative arrivals and departures, marking a 4 percent year-on-year increase, according to official statistics.

Outbound shipments reached 15,200 TEUs, indicating a robust start to 2024, with 44.2 percent year-on-year growth. This strong performance can be largely attributed to the proactive measures implemented by authorities.

These measures include stringent supervision and optimized services, achieved through the establishment of dedicated windows and green channels, ensuring 24/7 appointment-based customs clearance.

Authorities have also introduced favorable policies, such as direct loading upon arrival, port tax refunds for outbound shipments, expedited railway clearance, and the coordinated development of railway ports in bonded zones, all aimed at reducing costs for businesses.

In addition, Jinhua Customs is exploring logistics and regulatory models featuring inspection before shipment to optimize new international logistics channels.

Efforts have also been made to support the construction of the Yangtze River Delta hub for the China-Europe Railway Express at the East China International Intermodal Port and to enhance the capacity of the Jinhua Railway Port.
