The first overseas exhibition of the 2025 China Yiwu International Commodities Fair (Yiwu Fair) concluded on May 10 in Jakarta, Indonesia, with 117 enterprises from Yiwu, a county-level city in Jinhua, Zhejiang province, achieving successful outcomes.

The event featured 150 booths from May 8 to 10 with products such as daily consumer goods, hardware, electronics, accessories, cosmetics, and handicrafts.

Wang Zi, a Yiwu-based festival supplies merchant, noted the significant interest from buyers. "Despite having existing partnerships here, many Indonesian clients were unaware of Yiwu's cost-effective products. This expo facilitated new connections," said Wang, who gathered numerous leads for future collaboration.

He Jun, executive director of Yiwu Luochen Crafts Co, specializing in Christmas products, also reported high visitor traffic. Although the company primarily supplies Europe, America, and Central Asia, its presence in Indonesia resulted in immediate success, securing a post-expo order exceeding 1 million yuan ($139,041.31).

"Our products have established markets in Europe and America, but not in Southeast Asia. Indonesia's economic scale and strategic location are crucial for accessing Southeast Asian markets," he emphasized.

Yiwu Customs data indicated that Yiwu's exports to Indonesia grew 6.6 percent to 2.62 billion yuan in the first quarter.

The exhibition in Jakarta attracted 21,000 visits, resulting in 236 on-site deals valued at 8.9 million yuan and potential orders exceeding 50 million yuan.

Next, the Yiwu Fair will tour Mexico City, Tashkent, Seoul, and Karachi, further solidifying Yiwu's role as a global small commodities hub.
