Efficient transportation

Jinhua city lies in the central area of East China's Zhejiang province, with nine railways and 11 expressways under its administration, as well as the Jinhua-Yiwu east rail transit. The Yiwu Airport is the largest airport in the central and western regions of Zhejiang.

Solid economic foundation

Jinhua is widely recognized as the birthplace of the private economy in Zhejiang and there are large numbers of market players, with 2.00 million registered business entities, ranking first in the province in terms of the growth rate.

It has 187 commodity trading markets, including 73 with an annual turnover of more than 100 million yuan ($13.86 million) and six with an annual turnover of more than 10 billion yuan. It is home to the Yiwu International Trade Market, Yongkang Hardware City, and the world of films and television — Hengdian World Studios.

Highland of reform and opening up

Jinhua has more than 100 national and provincial reform pilot projects and the Jinhua and Yiwu area of the China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone was approved by the State Council, China's Cabinet, in 2020.

Relying on the Yiwu-Xinjiang-Europe freight train, the Yiwu-Ningbo-Zhoushan cargo channel and cross-border e-commerce platforms, Jinhua has established trade relations with 234 countries and regions — and exports to 98 of them have topped 1 billion yuan each.

At present, the city is actively participating in the high-quality integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region and is integrating with the construction of the G60 Science and Innovation Corridor.

Pristine ecology, environment

Jinhua is quite literally a massive garden in the middle of Zhejiang province and the forest coverage rate of the region administered by the city is over 56 percent. It has won the Dayu Award — a provincial award for water conservation — 11 consecutive years and has been placed on the national top 10 livable cities list in China for many times.

The city has 98 national A-level scenic areas, including two 5A-level and 20 4A-level. It has been rated as China's excellent tourist city and the city with the most potential for tourism development in the country.

Rich cultural deposits

Jinhua is a famous historical and cultural city, with a rich culture and influential people. On the culinary side, there is Jinhua ham which has been passed down for thousands of years and in high-culture, there is Wuju Opera which is widely said to be magnificent and unsurpassed in style. There are more than 1,000 historical personages in its recorded history — including six chengxiang (prime ministers), 13 zhuangyuan (individual candidates who took top place in annual national-level recruitment exams for officials) and more than 900 jinshi (successful candidates in the highest imperial examination).

Since the reform and opening-up process, more than 1.2 million entrepreneurs and top people in Jinhua have gone abroad to make their fortune. There are estimated to be more than 30,000 academics and experts from Jinhua at home and abroad at present, including 50 academicians.
