A delegation from Nurafshon city in Uzbekistan visited Yiwu — a county-level city in Jinhua, Zhejiang province — on July 15 and signed a Memorandum on Friendly Exchange Relations.
Located just 23 kilometers from Tashkent, Uzbekistan's capital, Nurafshon spans 38.9 square kilometers with a population of around 60,000.
Nurafshon lies 200 kilometers from Andijan, where the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Railway ends. Its location makes it a potential hub for expanding rail connectivity westward into the country's heartland.
The partnership positions Nurafshon as Yiwu's first sister city in Uzbekistan, poised to enhance regional economic collaboration.
During their visit, delegates toured landmarks including the Yiwu International Trade Market, the Global Digital Trade Center, Yiwuxi Railway Station, and cultural site Fotang Ancient Town, lauding Yiwu's achievements.
