The G9291 film-themed tourism train departed from Nanjingnan Railway Station in Nanjing, Jiangsu province on Sept 13, carrying 576 passengers to Hengdian World Studios in Dongyang, a county-level city in Jinhua, Zhejiang province.
Following the first film-themed train of the Yangtze River Delta region, launched on June 29 from Shanghai, this new service from Jiangsu to Hengdian represents an expansion of the integrated model of high-speed rail and film-themed tourism to more cities in the region.
At Nanjingnan Railway Station, passengers encountered over 30 actors recreating iconic characters from movies and TV dramas. In the eight carriages, designed as classic drama sets, passengers engaged in mobile live-action mystery games, solving plot-driven tasks to win rewards.
Upon arrival at Hengdian Railway Station, tailored routes were offered to youth groups, seniors, families, and guides to tour Hengdian World Studios. Visitors could watch performances and participate in the shooting of micro films.
Coinciding with Hangzhou-Wenzhou High-speed Rail's anniversary, the film-themed train strengthens Zhejiang-Jiangsu collaboration toward high-quality integration of culture and tourism resources in the Yangtze River Delta region.
Over the past year, daily passenger departures at Hengdian Railway Station have surged from 2,000 to 4,500, enabling faster access between Hengdian and major cities like Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Nanjing within two hours.
Hengdian World Studios is also offering benefits. Until Dec 30, tourists staying at hotels under Hengdian World Studios can enjoy a complimentary buffet breakfast for two, free access to any scenic spot, and multiple entries.
