A special business talent job fair for Yiwu Global Digital Trade Center was held on Oct 11 and 12 at the Yiwu International Trade Market's District 5.
The Global Digital Trade Center was a landmark project of the sixth-generation market in Yiwu — a county-level city in Jinhua, Zhejiang province, which is set to open on Oct 21. This event aimed to meet the market's need for talent by connecting business professionals with enterprises based in the center.
Unlike traditional recruitment events, often held in exhibition centers or universities, this job fair took place inside the market, offering an immersive and efficient experience.
The event focused on digital trade, highlighting cross-border e-commerce and foreign trade services. Over 150 companies presented more than 2,000 job opportunities, attracting over 3,000 job seekers from over 30 universities across six provinces. More than 1,600 employment intentions were confirmed on site.
International participation added a distinctive flavor, with more than 10 overseas businesses from Africa and other regions attending. International students were also attracted to Yiwu by its entrepreneurial ecosystem, multilingual environment, and global trade networks as they sought new opportunities.
Some companies conducted on-site store visits, allowing job seekers to experience workplaces firsthand.
Yiwu has already recruited 51,000 college graduates from January to September this year, a 21.9 percent increase. The city expects the number to surpass 60,000 by the end of the year as it continues to build a globally influential hub for business talent.
