The 5th Forum on Global Communication of Chinese Cities was held in Jinhua, Zhejiang province, on Dec 11, lasting for two days. The event showcased Chinese cities' international communication achievements from multiple perspectives and provided a platform for exchange and mutual learning.
Amid accelerating global changes and a shifting international communication landscape, Chinese cities serve as concrete carriers of the national image and front-line windows for expressing modern Chinese culture. Their international communication practices are increasingly vital for enhancing national cultural soft power and promoting cross-cultural exchange.
During the forum, participants discussed how to distill Chinese cities' experiences in high-quality development and other areas into expressions that combine Chinese characteristics with international comprehensibility. They also explored how to combine diverse resources to create a coordinated, multi-layered communication effect.
The forum released the China city international influence development report 2025 and the initiative titled Building bridges for civilization dialogue to enhance international communication effectiveness.
Local publicity officials, think tank experts, media representatives, and leading platform delegates gathered in Jinhua to share insights on advancing city-level international communication.
