The Belt and Road Diplomats' Cycling Series was launched in Beijing on March 17, unveiling six stops, including Yiwu in Jinhua, Zhejiang province.

As the series' first station, Yiwu's competition will kick off in Shangxi town on March 29. The 26-kilometer course, with a total elevation gain of 918 meters, connects several scenic attractions such as the Shili Peach Blossom Forest and Huangxi Scenic Area.

This route combines sports with Yiwu's ecological beauty and cultural heritage, offering participants a unique experience of cycling through the spring landscape.

Diplomats from countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, expats, and cycling enthusiasts will gather by Yankou Lake for a cross-border cycling exchange. This event marks Yiwu's first time hosting a cycling event under the General Administration of Sport of China.

An official from Yiwu's bureau of culture, radio, television, tourism, and sports noted that the event uses cycling as a bridge to connect Yiwu with the wider world. It will serve as a platform to showcase Yiwu's image and allow participants to experience the city's dynamic spirit.

The Belt and Road Diplomats' Cycling Series is a national sports and cultural exchange event featuring road races and cycling tours, aiming to foster friendship through cycling and add vitality to the Belt and Road Initiative.
