The 2026 "Discover China in Jinhua" International Youth Exchange wrapped up in Pujiang county, Jinhua, Zhejiang province, on June 23. Over 60 students from France, Russia, South Africa, and the United States explored Jinhua's vibrant industries, rich culture, and common prosperity through immersive activities over six days.
The group visited the Baxian Jidao Prosperity Belt in Lingxia town, Jindong district, where they experienced Dragon Boat Festival customs like making sachets, and enjoyed Wuju Opera performances at Poyang Ancient Street.
At Hengdian World Studios, the students had an opportunity to participate in the filming of a music drama. They also got to dress up in hanfu (traditional Chinese attire) while appreciating the ancient architecture in the filming hub.
Jack Spruiell, a student from Regis High School in the US, said he saw the seamless blend of traditional culture and technological innovation in Jinhua.
The highlight was a youth dialogue event, where six representatives shared their experiences. The students also held cross-cultural discussions and cooperated in performing a music drama.
Hao Zhongwei, secretary-general of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, said this event used culture as a bridge, helping the students understand China's modernization and strengthening global cultural exchange.
