The China Regional Selection Competition of the 78th International Exhibition of Inventions Nuremberg (iENA) was held from July 29 to 31 in Lizu village, Yiwu, a county-level city in Jinhua, Zhejiang province.
This marks the first time the event has transitioned from an online format to an in-person gathering and is the first international science and innovation event hosted in Lizu village.
The iENA, founded in 1948, is one of the world's oldest invention fairs, with this year's event bringing its China regional showcase to Yiwu, utilizing the city's unique commercial and innovative atmosphere.
Over three days, 166 student projects, seven teacher projects, and five participating organizations from across China highlighted the vibrant spirit of youth technological innovation in China.
The event showcased a range of high-quality science and technology projects, many of which address real-world concerns. Notable innovations included a dual-purpose ice and water rescue tool, a high-rise fire escape device, and a mountain rock rescue apparatus, all tailored to emergency response and public safety scenarios.
Outstanding projects from this event will earn the opportunity to participate in the iENA in Germany, where they will compete with global innovators.
