A cafe named The Kiln in Jindong district, Jinhua, Zhejiang province, blends the ancient Wuzhou Kiln culture with a modern coffee experience.
The cafe attracts visitors with its serene and elegant atmosphere, featuring a uniquely shaped pine tree as a natural backdrop behind the coffee bar. Inside, various exquisitely-crafted ceramic artworks are on display. Visitors can enjoy pottery-making, photography, and conversations over a cup of coffee.
"Many features were handcrafted by our team, including ceramic works. The ancient houses from the late Ming (1368-1644) and early Qing (1644-1911) dynasties were also restored by ourselves over six years," explained Zhu Yani, general manager assistant at Zhejiang Guwu Yaohuo Ceramic Culture Co.
The outdoor courtyard, with its greenery and traditional kilns, boasts an ancient charm. Visitors can make their own pottery and use their creations as coffee cups, creating a more engaging and interactive experience.
Since the upgrade, the cafe has gained popularity, with increasing foot traffic. "We plan to add dining options, integrating ceramics into everyday use and showcasing the beauty of life aesthetics," Zhu added.
