Jinhua in Zhejiang province has built a comprehensive framework for educational cooperation with Africa, from think tank research and vocational training to cultural exchange.

Zhejiang Normal University has established four Confucius Institutes and one Confucius Classroom in Africa, the most among Chinese universities, and trained over 100,000 students through programs combining Chinese language learning with vocational skills.

The university's China-Africa Think Tanks Forum has been held 14 times, producing the Africa-China Dar es Salaam Consensus, also known as the China-Africa Think Tanks Consensus on Deepening Global Development and Cooperation, with scholars from 50 African countries.

Vocational education is another area of focus. Jinhua University of Vocational Technology and Rwanda Polytechnic's Musanze College jointly founded the Musanze International College in 2017. Since then, 20 groups of teachers have been sent to Rwanda, helping train over 500 skilled workers.

Yiwu Industrial and Commercial College has enrolled 1,190 students from 38 African countries since 2007, with over 80 percent of its graduates working in cross-border trade. Zhejiang Guangsha Vocational and Technical University of Construction began enrolling students from the Republic of the Congo in arts and crafts programs in 2018.

In October, the 2026 China-Africa TVET Cooperation Dialogue drew over 150 representatives, with discussions focusing on vocational education cooperation between China and Africa, particularly the partnership between Zhejiang and Rwanda.

Through the "Hundred Crafts Going Global" project, Jinhua has provided education to over 15,000 students from more than 50 African countries.
