Prato is a province in the northeast of Italy's Tuscany region, well situated in the center of Florence and the Pistoia Plain. It serves as a main hub for transport in the country.

Prato is one of the provinces with the highest level of urbanization and industrialization in Tuscany. The pillar industry of the province is the textile industry, the development history of which dates back to the 15th century when Prato was already a famous woolen processing and production center in Italy. By the middle of the 19th century, the textile industry developed rapidly, driving Prato to gradually become the center of Italy's modern textile industry.

Rich in historical and cultural wealth, the province of Prato is a place where you can experience how life looked during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance for there are numerous well-preserved historical monuments, churches and museums dating from the times.

The Prato province has achieved robust development in the service, tourism, and information industries during recent years. It has also witnessed sustained socioeconomic development with continuous innovation. Wenzhou-born Chinese have made contributions to local development.
