A bilingual short video about the time-honored Kunqu Opera in Yongjia county, Wenzhou was recently listed among the top 30 works at a national high-level short video contest targeting expats.

The video features Ukrainian anchor Kristina, who visited Yongjia county to see Huang Miaomiao, a master of the local intangible cultural item of Kunqu Opera. During the visit, Kristina learned how to wear a traditional dress and cosmetics, and perform opera moves.

The video, which received support from the Wenzhou government and the Wenzhou culture, radio, film and tourism bureau, was produced by the Wenzhou Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center and the Wenzhou Overseas Media Center.

The high-level short video contest titled Me and Chinese Culture, which was organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in October to explore stories about how people learn and promote Chinese culture around the world, received 2,400 entries.
