The digital transformation of the manufacturing industry in Wenzhou, East China's Zhejiang province is taking shape, breaking new ground for the city's high quality economic development.

Statistics show that in 2021, the proportion of the manufacturing added value in GDP increased by 0.9 percentage points more than that of the previous year, while the added value of enterprises above designated size went up 10.1 percent year on year.

The "Industrial Brain", a system which can help modernize local industrial chains, was one of the key contributors to the digitalization of manufacturing in Wenzhou.

At the digital workshop of the CHNT Group in Yueqing, a county-level city governed by Wenzhou, a customized version of the "Industrial Brain" for electrical equipment is being used.

By rolling out a holistic plan for the group covering R&D and design, supply chain procurement, intelligent manufacturing, and digital marketing, the "Industrial Brain" has helped the plant realize a 335-percent increase in production efficiency, full digital control of key processes, and a 30-percent decrease in operating costs.

As of April this year, the customized "Industrial Brain" for electrical equipment has served over 3,200 enterprises, connected to 111,000 data acquisition nodes, and registered about 18,000 users. It was even rated as an "Excellent Industrial Brain" in Zhejiang province.
