The Italian city of Turin is an important business and cultural center in Northern Italy. As the capital city of Piedmont and of the Metropolitan City of Turin, it is nearly 140 kilometers from Milan and surrounded by the western Alpine arch and Superga Hill.

The central area of Turin covers 130.17 sq km with a population of 911,534, making it the fourth most populous city in Italy.

It has a rich culture and history and is known for its numerous art galleries, restaurants, churches, palaces, opera houses, piazzas, parks, gardens, theatres, libraries, museums and other venues.

The city also hosts some of Italy's best universities, colleges, academies, lycea and gymnasia, such as the University of Turin and the Turin Polytechnic.
