A phenomenal dance drama presented at the 2023 Spring Festival Gala has become a catalyst for boosting tourism in Taishun county in Wenzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, local media reported.

In Stepping Stones, a dance drama featured during the 2023 Spring Festival Gala, veteran dancer Zhu Jiejing, along with dancers from the Zhejiang Conservatory of Music, use their graceful dance moves as they move across a stone bridge.

The dance drama was inspired by the Dingbu Stone Bridge in Shiyang township of Taishun county. "Dingbu" refers to the bridge's original appearance, in which the stones resembled piano keys.

Thanks to the dance drama, Taishun received a total of 418,000 tourists during the Spring Festival holiday, over 30 percent more than the number of tourists in the previous year, while the county's tourism revenue increased by 60.2 percent year on year. Langqiao-Dongquan tourist resort area received 218,000 tourists, helping increase incomes for 3,000 households in surrounding towns.

Shen Haiqing, head of the Taishun bureau of culture, broadcasting, tourism and sports, said that Taishun's tourism sector will take the opportunity to promote the building of the Langqiao -Dongquan tourist resort area, which has become a national tourist resort, in order to continue to boost the high-quality development of tourism in the county.
