Some 425 fitness enthusiasts participated in a 10-kilometer run at Yangfushan Park in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province on March 5, local media outlets reported.

The run started from the east gate of Yangfushan Park, with participants running six laps around the park for a total of 10 km.

The activity was part of celebrations for the 200-day countdown to the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022, which falls on March 7.

It was organized by the Wenzhou municipal publicity department, Wenzhou Asian Games Office, Wenzhou Sports Bureau, and Wenzhou Civilization Center, and was undertaken by the Wenzhou Marathon Association, with strong support from the Wenzhou Sports Lottery.

The run, which is an important part of the 200-day countdown celebrations in Wenzhou, is expected to involve the general public and will be held again in the future.

More activities were also held to mark the day, such as the launch ceremony of the Asian Games volunteer services initiative, a dragon boat painting contest for Chinese and overseas children, and a city-wide teenager "Rope Skipping King" challenge.

Wenzhou is among the five co-host cities of the Hangzhou Asian Games, which will host the football group and dragon boat competitions.
