Container ship SITC Xincheng, loaded with machinery, small commodities, and entertainment items, departed from the Zhuangyuanao Area of Wenzhou Port for Indonesia at 4 pm on June 24, marking the opening of the Wenzhou-Indonesia direct shipping service.

The direct shipping service, operated by SITC International Holdings Co, includes stops at ports such as Jakarta, Semarang, Surabaya, Makassar, and Batangas, with Jakarta and Makassar serving as transit stations, covering other smaller ports in the Southeastern Asian country.

The service is expected to establish an efficient freight transport channel between Wenzhou and Indonesia, providing convenience to customers in Wenzhou and its surrounding areas. Moreover, it offers a new pathway for interactions and economic cooperation between Wenzhou and countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.

Since the beginning of this year, Wenzhou Port has pinned three new routes, namely Malaysia, Japan, and Indonesia, on its world map. Going forward, the port will continue to strengthen infrastructure construction, enhance the scale and capacity of the port, and provide high-quality and efficient services to meet the ever-growing transportation needs of the port industry.

With the continuous expansion of international routes and the improvement of port facilities, Wenzhou Port is poised to play an increasingly significant role in promoting regional connectivity and fostering economic growth.
