The dragon holds a special place in Chinese culture, and the dragon boat serves as a distinctive symbol of the Dragon Boat Festival.

Wenzhou, renowned for its dragon boat tradition, and Copenhagen, capital of Denmark and the country of fairy tales, are interconnected through the spirit of the dragon boat.

In this episode of the "City to City" video series, Bingwa Lebohang Anesu, a Zimbabwean doctorate student at Wenzhou Medical University, joins overseas Chinese residing in Copenhagen and takes us on a journey to explore the vibrant dragon boat culture in these two cities.

The Wenzhou Dragon Boat Museum stands as a testament to the rich history and cultural significance of dragon boat racing. Anesu visits the museum to delve into the origins of dragon boat racing, marveling at the craftsmanship displayed in the intricately designed "jewelry dragons".

Dragon boat racing has now spread to more than 85 countries and regions. Since 2018, the Wenzhou Overseas Media Center has set up overseas dragon boat bases in Barcelona, Rome, Paris, and Copenhagen.

In this episode, the overseas Chinese community in Denmark demonstrated their involvement in organizing and participating in the dragon boat race on June 18, bringing the waves to life at Copenhagen's vibrant harbor with Chinese dragon boats.
