Behind the scenes of the Hangzhou Asian Games and Asian Para Games, an intricate web of knowledge management is being carried out by a dedicated team known as the "think tank", which is led by Cai Jianjing from Wenzhou.

Cai leads the team responsible for compiling the Official Reports of the Hangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee. His expertise has made him an authority on all matters related to the Asian Games.

The Official Reports are the most comprehensive, authoritative, and official publications released after the conclusion of the Hangzhou Asian Games and Asian Para Games.

The reports serve as historical documents, chronicling the journey of the monumental events. Once completed, they are submitted to entities such as the Olympic Council of Asia, Asian Paralympic Committee, and national Olympic and Paralympic committees.

In a recent interview, Cai offered insights into the content of the reports.

The first volume covers the bidding process, preparations, and event operations. The second volume serves as an official commemorative record, delving into the competition outcomes, exceptional athlete achievements, remarkable stories, torch relay, opening and closing ceremonies, and cultural events. The third volume serves as an official record of achievements, documenting the primary results of all competition events, new records set, and the overall accomplishments of each participating team. The fourth volume, limited to the Asian Games, delves into the legacy, chronicling the achievements of legacy work during the preparation, hosting, and post-event phases.

Cai highlighted the challenging nature of the endeavor, revealing that the reports for the Asian Para Games must be submitted within six months of the event's conclusion, while the Asian Games reports have a one-year submission timeline. The colossal scope of the work, coupled with its multifaceted nature and external collaborations, makes it an exceptionally demanding task.

Moreover, Cai emphasized that the reports' narrative must be comprehensive, objective, and detailed, but also feature vivid storytelling. The aim is to breathe life into the Hangzhou Asian Games by unveiling the stories behind the scenes that contribute to the meticulous orchestration of the event. The endeavor remains a work in progress, a dynamic process of discovery and refinement.
