Pingyang county in Wenzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, held a civic cultural festival on Aug 27, celebrating its 1,740-year history.

The event featured two main segments: the "Perceive Pingyang" unveiling ceremony and a cultural performance.

As 400 drones ascended slowly into the sky, illuminating the night with vibrant lights, the fusion of technology and art ushered in "Perceiving Pingyang", the first part of the festival, integrating elements such as the city's mascots, visual images, and "Ten Scenic Spots of Pingyang" illustrations.

Local residents were treated to a cultural extravaganza featuring unique performances, including drum dances, puppet shows, impassioned poetry recitals and soul-stirring songs.

The festival, represented by the number "1740" to mark its history, featured an opening ceremony, seven main events, and 40 sub-activities. It will look back in history, utilize various public cultural spaces, and make full use of festival resources.
