The construction of the Taishun General Airport in Wenzhou's Taishun county recently obtained approval and is scheduled to begin later this year.

The airport, classified as A1, will function as a general-purpose airport, catering to aircraft with more than 10 passenger seats that can be utilized for commercial purposes. Situated 8.4 kilometers southeast of Taishun's downtown area, it will span an extensive area of about 675 mu (45 hectares).

The airport will feature a 1,200-meter-long and 30-meter-wide runway and an 8,300-square-meter terminal. Its parking apron will have the capacity to accommodate 12 Class B small fixed-wing transport aircraft and six helicopters.

The airport will offer various services, including low-altitude short-haul transportation, aviation logistics, emergency and medical rescue, scenic flights, agricultural and pastoral operations, as well as private aircraft hosting, for clients in Zhejiang and its neighboring regions.

By 2035, the airport is expected to achieve a passenger throughput of 26,000 people and a cargo throughput of 2,600 metric tons annually.
