Wenzhou's city service hotline has officially introduced English and Japanese support for the upcoming Hangzhou Asian Games, providing services and assistance to foreigners speaking both languages.

Parts of competitions in the group and knockout stages of football events as well as all dragon boat racing events will be held in Wenzhou, a city in East China's Zhejiang province.

In late July, the hotline center recruited 20 foreign language volunteers from Wenzhou University. These volunteers, who have undergone extensive training to familiarize themselves with the hotline system and prepare for various situations, will work in six shifts, assisting those in need through the hotline.

"The Asian Games are being held in my hometown, and I can't tell you how thrilled I am to be able to participate as a volunteer providing foreign language service," said Sheng Chen, a native of Wenzhou and sophomore at Wenzhou University's School of Foreign Languages.

To ensure the accuracy of the service, the hotline center collaborated with teachers from Sheng Chen's school, engaging in multiple discussions and revisions for all pre-set questions and responses.

Now visitors can simply dial 12345, the number of the hotline, and press "2" following the voice prompts to access the foreign language desk for the Asian Games and receive convenient consultation services.
