Wenzhou, a city in Zhejiang province, recently received recognition for 12 entities listed in the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism's 2023 designation of cities with 4A-level and above scenic areas, towns with 5A-level scenic areas, and villages with Gold 3A-level scenic areas.

Among them, the urban area of Lucheng district in Wenzhou secured a spot as a 5A-level scenic city at the provincial level and the urban area of Ruian earned recognition as a 4A-level scenic city.

Dongping subdistrict in Dongtou district and Caocun town in Ruian were recognized as 5A-level scenic towns, while Yitou Yiyang village in Shanfu town, Lucheng district, and seven other villages made it to the list as Gold 3A-level scenic villages.

Scenic cities, towns and villages aim to create regions with rich cultural heritage, harmonious living environments, diverse and abundant recreational offerings, well-developed public service facilities, and robust comprehensive management support. They are classified into three levels: 3A, 4A, and 5A.

Gold 3A-level scenic villages represent an upgraded version of 3A-level scenic villages, adhering to higher standards in village environment, landscape, facilities, elements, activities, business formats, operation, and service.

To date, Wenzhou has established 11 scenic cities, 146 scenic towns, and 1471 scenic villages, including eight Gold 3A-level scenic villages.
