Located in the southeast part of East China's Zhejiang province, Lucheng district is the political, economic and cultural center of Wenzhou city. It has jurisdiction over 12 sub-districts, two towns, 89 communities and 80 administrative villages.

In 2023, Lucheng generated a regional gross domestic product of 140.11 billion yuan ($119.46 billion) calculated at comparable prices, a year-on-year increase of 5.3 percent. 

The annual per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents in Lucheng averaged at 86,782 yuan and 49,796 yuan, respectively, up 6.3 percent and 7.8 percent on the previous year.

The added value of above-designated-size industrial enterprises saw a year-on-year increase of 5.8 percent. The general public budget revenue experienced an uptick of 0.5 percent to 3.59 billion yuan.
