Located on the southern bank of the Oujiang River estuary, Longwan district is one of four urban districts of Wenzhou, East China's Zhejiang province. It borders Dongtou district in the northeast, Rui'an city in the south, and Lucheng and Ouhai districts in the west. It is opposite Yueqing city and Yongjia county across the Oujiang River.

Established in 1984, it covers a total land area of 323 square kilometers. By the end of 2023, the registered population of the district was 344,939.

Being a sea-land-air transport hub in the southern Zhejiang and northern Fujian area, Longwan is home to the Wenzhou Longwan International Airport, Longwan wharf – the largest wharf in Wenzhou Port – and a cargo terminal along the Jinhua-Wenzhou Railway. The Ningbo-Taizhou-Wenzhou Expressway and the Coastal Expressway under planning both pass through the district.

In 2023, Longwan district achieved 92.24 billion yuan ($12.75 billion) in regional gross domestic product, 9.37 billion yuan in fiscal revenue, and 5.4 billion yuan in general public budget revenue.

The per capita disposable income of urban residents reached 78,250 yuan, while the per capita net income of rural residents was 52,296 yuan last year.

There are currently five traditional industries in the district – valves, steel, shoemaking, pen/pencil manufacturing, and garments.
