The 2025 County-level New Quality Productive Forces Development Conference was held on Dec 11 in Cangnan county, Wenzhou, Zhejiang province, where more than 200 representatives, including government officials, industry leaders, and academics, gathered for in-depth discussions on county-level strategies and policies for new quality productive forces.

Following the directives of the fourth plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the conference aimed to create a platform for exploring innovative development models and pathways.

Zhang Benfeng, Party secretary of Cangnan, highlighted the county's efforts in promoting new industrialization. By balancing the transformation of traditional industries with the development of specialty sectors such as printing, packaging, and clean energy, Cangnan is enhancing its distinctive industrial strengths and fostering new quality productive forces.

Wang Xingtai, director of the research institute at Zhejiang Mashang Technology Co, presented Cangnan's outcomes as a pilot area for the Global Migration to 2D (GM2D) initiative.

In 2022, Zhejiang began constructing the initiative's demonstration zone. As the first county-level pilot area in the province, Cangnan has led the transition from one-dimensional barcodes to 2D codes, enhancing the connectivity of product information across industries.

The event concluded with the release of the Initiative on County-level High-quality Development in the New Era, calling for collaborative efforts to invigorate innovation and propel high-quality development.
