The Rodin Art Center in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province, is set to open its inaugural exhibition, The Shape of Enduring Force: Auguste Rodin Exhibition, on June 30. This marks the first time Wenzhou is hosting an exhibition of original works by the world-renowned sculptor Auguste Rodin, highlighting a significant cultural exchange between China and France in Zhejiang.
On the afternoon of June 20, an unboxing ceremony was held for the exhibition pieces, with several authentic Rodin works arriving safely at the venue.
The exhibition will feature over 70 original works by Rodin and other contemporary sculptors. Director Shen Zhongjie emphasized that most of these Rodin masterpieces are being displayed in Wenzhou for the first time.
This event, authorized by the Rodin Museum in France, marks the opening of China's second Rodin art institution and is a key project of the 20th Croisements Festival's Wenzhou station.
The center will house a permanent gallery, temporary exhibition halls, and an art support area, complemented by an art store, cafe, and restaurant, as it aims to become a central hub connecting Wenzhou with global art resources.
