The regional GDP of Wenzhou in Zhejiang province reached 514.82 billion yuan ($76.07 billion) in the first half of 2026, growing 6.0 percent year-on-year. This growth rate surpasses the national and provincial averages by 1.3 and 0.3 percentage points, respectively.
Agricultural production remained stable, with the output value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fishery increasing by 4.6 percent to 14.22 billion yuan, ensuring ample supply of major products.
The industrial sector showed strong growth, with an 11.4 percent increase in added value for industries above the designated size (with annual revenue of at least 20 million yuan). Emerging industries continued to gain momentum, with the added value of digital product manufacturing and the high-tech sector increasing by 23.4 percent and 19.6 percent, respectively.
The service industry improved in quality, with its added value rising by 5.5 percent to 314.75 billion yuan. Traditional services like accommodation and catering grew by 8.4 percent in its added value, while modern services like profit-making services increased by 11.0 percent.
Foreign trade remained strong, with total imports and exports reaching 150.75 billion yuan, a 0.9 percent increase. Exports grew by 5.3 percent, with significant increases in exports to the United States, ASEAN, and RCEP member countries. Exports of electromechanical products rose by 14.2 percent, comprising 58.9 percent of total exports.
Market vitality was evident with 33,000 new enterprises and 70,000 individual businesses established. Residents' incomes grew steadily, with urban-rural income disparities narrowing, as per capita disposable income rose by 4.0 percent to 40,825 yuan.
