China released on Sept 22 the list of the nation's top 500 private enterprises in 2026, with 14 firms led by businesspeople from Wenzhou in Zhejiang province making the cut, including 10 headquartered in Wenzhou itself.
Leading the pack is Tsingshan Holding Group, which ranked 15th with a revenue of 432.2 billion yuan ($64.38 billion).
This year, three enterprises led by Wenzhou businesspeople broke into the Top 100: Tsingshan Holding Group, Chint Group, and Vipshop. Each reported revenues exceeding 100 billion yuan.
Chint Group showed outstanding progress, climbing two spots to secure 38th position, following a 14-place jump last year. Vipshop stands as the "gatekeeper" of the Top 100, positioned at 100.
Overall, among the 14 enterprises, eight improved their rankings, one maintained its position, and three experienced a drop. This reflects a generally positive performance for Wenzhou businesses in the national landscape.
