In a significant transformation, the wood flooring industry in Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, is shifting from traditional manufacturing to innovative, integrated solutions.

From January to November this year, the city exported 1,755 batches of wood flooring, valued at over 497 million yuan ($70.94 million). The products have found new markets in countries such as Serbia, Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam.

Faced with a volatile international trade environment, Huzhou's wood flooring sector is evolving from single-product manufacturing to offering comprehensive home solutions, transitioning from traditional to intelligent manufacturing and from original equipment production to independent brand building.

This change is evident at the exhibition area of Zhejiang Pinge New Material Technology, where traditional wood samples have been replaced by immersive spaces like smart study areas.

"We've eliminated three traditional production lines, introduced automated equipment like smart cutting devices, and developed a digital management system for the entire process from design to installation," said Zhu Xiangen, head of foreign trade at Zhejiang Pinge.

The company has also launched its own home brand, with products achieving Forest Stewardship Council's forest certification and the European Union's E0 environmental standards. Its exports have exceeded 160 million yuan this year.

Similarly, Zhejiang Wohao Wood Technology has gained international recognition for its innovative smart heating floors, which are energy-efficient and environmentally friendly.

"Our smart heating floors are popular overseas, and we are actively expanding our international presence," said Shen Yifeng, the company's general manager.
